Pay Information: $80,000/year (Depending on experience) Order Type: DH

We are currently recruiting for a Production Manager. This is a FULL TIME position being directly hired on with the company.

The Production Manager manages a multi-faceted team of employees across several functional areas of the business in the attainment of company objectives. The Production Manager is responsible for directing employees in the Production Department to ensure efficient cost effective production of good quality components delivered on time.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage a segment of the operational business by developing and implementing business plan priorities, and leading cross-functional teams in the achievement of company goals.
  • Create and foster an environment that is conducive to teamwork and demonstrates genuine concern for the development of all employees
  • Support and drive continuous improvement/lean concepts and techniques throughout the manufacturing process in the achievement of cost reductions and process effectiveness.
  • Ensure that a consistent, systematic and logical approach to problem solving, decision-making, systems improvement and planning are continually and thoroughly applied by manufacturing.
  • Provide feedback and support related to maintenance activities of the plant, including infrastructure, facility maintenance, plant preventative maintenance and utilities (as applicable).
  • Manage the production activities of the plant in the attainment of production deliverables (efficiency, effectiveness, scrap, cost per earned hour, build/schedule attainment, delivery, etc).
  • Work closely with the Quality department to address customer and product concerns and continuously improve shop floor system/process discipline.
  • Provide leadership, development and coaching to effectively leverage the resources allocated to each department to promote safety, quality, productivity and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure all employees within departments are treated fairly and consistently with respect to supervision, guidance, coaching and training
  • Ensures that safety and environmental standards are adhered to.
  • Responsible to prepare annual departmental budgets, applicable long-term business plans, in addition to ad hoc reports as required.
  • Quote and manage engineering changes within the department including sourcing vendors through customer approval.
  • Prepare capital requests and metric charts to drive resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff through ongoing feedback and formal performance reviews
  • Perform regular workplace inspections.
  • Conduct safety talks, staff meetings and department/line meetings.
  • Ensure that safety and environmental standards are promoted and followed.
  • Be involved in accident/incident investigation programs.
  • Ensure that new employees are trained on department hazards and safe operation of equipment.
  • Correct or commend health and safety performance.
  • Maintains safe working practices and compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
  • Perform other duties as required

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  • Minimum completion of post-secondary education in a field related to manufacturing management
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory/leadership experience required
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred

Pay: $80,000/year (based on experience)
